The Council's Bond Scheme

The Council's Bond Scheme

Just to clarify, we are not able to accept the council’s Bond Scheme. However, you may be able to apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) to help with your deposit. Your benefits advisor should be able to support you with this and can usually request that it is fast‑tracked.

You can also find more information here:

In addition, depending on your housing element and benefit entitlement, you might be eligible to use a Guarantor Service. This is a paid service and typically costs around one month’s rent.

If you have a friend or family member with a suitable income, they may be able to act as a guarantor as well — this will depend on your benefits entitlement and their financial situation.

If you’re comfortable sharing your household details and benefit entitlement, I may be able to give you some guidance on your options.

I’m also happy to discuss this over the phone — just let me know a convenient time for you.
