WiFi Connection Checklist
If you are experiencing WiFi issues, please follow the steps below before reporting further.
These
simple checks often resolve common problems.
1. Restart the Router
Switch the router off, wait 60 seconds, and turn it back on.
2. Check Location
Ensure the router is in an open space, not in a cupboard or behind furniture. Try using WiFi closer
to the router.
3. Check Devices
See if the issue affects all devices or just one (e.g. phone, laptop, TV).
4. Check Time of Issue
If problems happen mainly in the evening, this is often due to network congestion with the provider.
5. Run a Speed Test
Visit
www.speedtest.net and test in the morning and evening. Compare results.
6. Try Wired Connection
If possible, connect a device using a cable to check if the connection is more stable.
7. Check Usage
Multiple users streaming, gaming or downloading at the same time can slow the connection.
8. Contact Your Provider
If you have your own broadband account and issues continue, contact your provider (e.g. Virgin
Media) and ask for a line check.
9. Get Back in Touch
If the issue continues after completing the above steps, please contact us with your findings and we
will review further.
